Let It Snow . . .

. . . but not today.

I'm getting ready for my 19 mile run today and have awakened to a thin layer of snow on the ground. It snowed a little yesterday afternoon after raining all day. Today is supposed to be cloudy, but no more precipitation. I'm counting on that.

I'll let you all know how it goes today!

OK Girlfriend...How'd it go?? I hope well. I am waiting patiently!
I will be doing my 20 miler before the womens potluck tomorrow. Hope to see you at church or the potluck or both.

. . . saving lives one mile at a time.

In January 2008, I completed my first running event ever, a full marathon with Team in Training. It was my fantastic mom, Phyllis, who inspired me to run for the first time in my life. She lost her battle with leukemia in September of 2007, but she won the ultimate victory - an eternity in Heaven!

Now I am back for another event with Team in Training, once again to do my part to help fund research that will hopefully one day find a cure for leukemia. This time I'm training for a TRIATHLON along with my husband, Dan! If you read back over my blog, you will see that I was never a runner until I began training for a marathon. Well, this is no different. I've never been a swimmer - not even one pool length. So this will truly be a challenge for me!

I hope you will check back and read my blog often. I will continue to update this with our progress. Also, I hope you will visit our fundraising websites and join our team in the fight against leukemia and other blood cancers!
